The Companion

Set in a dystopian near future, an architect responsible for creating the companion program is forced to participate in her own design and is required to adopt a companion from the local shelter. Lily must survive a state-managed bonding process where every choice, desire, and misstep affects her Alignment score. Lily quickly discovers that living inside the algorithm is very different from designing it and the more she resists Adrian, the more the system insists they belong together.

Adrian knows only one thing with certainty: securing a successful placement with the infamous Lily Voss is his last chance at a future. All his training teaches him how to survive the assignment. None of it prepares him for the woman who built the rules... or for the secrets she hides.
